Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. You will research case law and prepare memoranda on a variety of legal issues to assist attorneys in pursuing their clients’ claims. Other job duties may include drafting content for the firm website, assisting attorneys with drafting documents such as subpoenas, motions, and pleadings as well as coordinating with paralegals on court filings and calendaring important dates to keep files accurate.     Responsibilities:

    • Assist attorneys with preparing complaints and other pleadings
    • Draft content for the firm’s website and newsletter
    • Draft discovery requests and assist with preparing discovery responses
    • Research case law in preparation for helping attorneys develop solid arguments
    • Communicate with clients and their families when necessary to facilitate a positive working relationship
    • Additional duties as needed

    Qualifications:

    • Current second year law student
    • A 3.0 overall or greater GPA desired
    • Excellent writing skills and communication skills • Display attention to detail and strong work ethic
    • Willingness to conduct research, both electronically and otherwise
    • Interest in Personal Injury law or civil litigation
    • Law review or moot court experience strongly preferred
    • Flexible schedule and commitment to attendance

    Job Type: Part-time

    Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 18 – 25 per week
