Professor - Legal Support teaches courses in the discipline area of legal services. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Legal Support provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Legal Support typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Administrative Support (Legal) Assistant

  • Position Objective: The Administrative Support Assistant shall provide all clerical services required to perform the tasks related to the support of the USAO Administrative Division by providing a variety of direct assistance to the Administrative Officer, Human Resources Officer, Contracting Officer, AUSAs, paralegals, legal assistants, and other USAO personnel. May also serve as the main office receptionist on a recurring basis.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Processes a variety of administrative or legal documents, which are relatively routine or straightforward in content and format.
    • Reviews documents, files documents according to instructions and/or policies.
    • Processes administrative and financial transactions for the district. Drafts correspondence upon request.
    • Performs quality control on documents before filing or any other correspondence or outgoing materials.
    • May be required to assist with scanning and indexing of legal documents.
    • Assists government employees with travel authorizations and travel vouchers.
    • Will be trained to input transactions into financial or personnel systems.
    • Responsible for managing and distributing office supplies, mail, books, etc. May be required to lift up to 25-50 pounds periodically during the course of normal duties.
    • Assists the Human Resources Specialist with filing, preparing personnel actions, maintenance of personnel records.
    • Performs a variety of direct support services to USAO staff.

     

     

    Basic Qualifications:

    • US Citizen or Permanent Resident
    • HS Diploma
    • Minimum of 3 years of administrative or HR support experience
    • Computer skills and ability to use MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Access or other data bases, MS Word and Adobe Acrobat Professional

     

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Communication skills are extremely important. Personally takes care of many matters and questions including answering substantive questions not requiring technical knowledge. Applicant works and interacts professionally and effectively with all levels of staff; has the ability to meet established deadlines and work as a team player in a professional office; and is skilled in meeting and dealing with people in a courteous and tactful manner.
    • Demonstrated ability to review a wide variety of documents, both legal and non-legal documents and a variety of legal correspondence.
