Professor - Liberal Arts teaches courses in the discipline area of liberal arts. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Liberal Arts provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Liberal Arts typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. We are excited to be growing our team, allowing our dance class capacity to remain small and our quality of dance instruction to remain high.
Job will be primarily teaching young recreational dance students in a variety of styles. Classes take place on week nights and Saturday mornings. Some cleaning/front desk work may also be required.
Opportunities are available to grow into a bigger role including: choreographing for recitals, showcases, and competitions.
Experience teaching children ages 3-18. Experience in multiple styles of dance including: Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, and Musical Theater. Experience in teaching dance is preferred. Experience in these styles is a huge bonus!
College (some - degree) education is required. Preferably with an education or performing arts focus.
We are willing to have applicants shadow/train in the studio with our current staff.
Applicants should be charismatic, artistic, open to learning, willing to learn & uplift our current studio culture and ethics.
