Being a Professor - Liberal Arts provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Liberal Arts typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. The departments within the College of Liberal Arts have a variety of student positions available during the academic year. Some are paper graders, assistants in various areas of the Theater department, models in the Art Department, foreign language tutors, or office assistants in any of the departments.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Duties require considerable knowledge and skills. Must have good communication and organizational skills. Must be punctual and responsible. Preferred Experience:To be eligible for student employment, a applicant must:
a) Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment, or the intent to enroll in six credit hours during the upcoming Fall 2023 semester.
b) Have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or higher.
This is a part-time, student assistant position. The CLA starting hourly rate for Student Assistant positions is $14.38.
