Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Mathematics provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Mathematics typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Savannah Technical College seeks a full-time Mathematics Instructor. The successful candidate will be based at the Liberty Campus, but may be required to travel to and teach classes at any Savannah Technical College campus location. This individual will report to the Mathematics Department Head in the General Studies Division. Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Duties include a flexible schedule of lecture, student advisement and registration. Must be willing to work split teaching shifts that might require split teaching days between campus locations.

Work is typically performed in a classroom/lab environment with intermittent sitting or walking, bending, pushing, and pulling for up to three (3) – four (4) continuous hours at a time. May frequently lift and carry lightweight objects. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes.

Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package. Positions are contingent upon funding.
