    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at the Rio Grande LNG project in Port Isabel, TX. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our LNG facility.


    Responsibilities:

    1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop mechanical designs and specifications for LNG production facilities, including storage tanks, vaporizers, compressors, and piping systems.
    2. Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost estimations for proposed mechanical engineering projects.
    3. Perform detailed engineering calculations and simulations to optimize equipment performance, reliability, and safety.
    4. Review and approve mechanical drawings, equipment datasheets, and vendor proposals to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
    5. Participate in procurement activities, including vendor selection, technical bid evaluations, and factory acceptance testing of mechanical equipment.
    6. Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and startup phases to troubleshoot mechanical issues and ensure adherence to design specifications.
    7. Develop preventive maintenance programs and procedures for mechanical systems and equipment to maximize uptime and reliability.
    8. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements relevant to LNG production and mechanical engineering practices.
    9. Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement by actively participating in HSE initiatives and project quality assurance programs.
    10. Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on technical matters related to mechanical engineering design and analysis.

    Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
    2. Professional Engineer (PE) license or willingness to obtain licensure in the state of Texas.
    3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the oil and gas, petrochemical, or LNG industry.
    4. Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, engineering analysis tools, and project management applications.
    5. Strong understanding of ASME, API, and other relevant codes and standards governing the design and construction of mechanical systems and equipment.
    6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
    8. Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental stewardship in all aspects of engineering design and project execution.
