Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. PURPOSE: The Automation Tech Intern will assist the ESS team with various research, development, documentation, basic project and general technical tasks. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, self-starter with a desire to learn and grow in the field of automation.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and apply safety standards to maintain a safe working environment
- Assist with research tasks for new technology, component research, vendor information, etc.
- Assist with general documentation tasks centered around project development, project management, data collection, etc.
- Handle basic project related and engineering tasks as needed.
- Support the Corporate Automation Engineering teams as needed.
Qualifications
- Currently studying in a mechanical engineering or related technical field
- Basic computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well in a goal-oriented team environment
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Experience with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software
- Experience with design for assembly/manufacturing principles
