    Scaffolding Technician II - Kuparuk Project Services - Mechanical Group

     

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Scaffolding Technician II is responsible for journey man level building, erecting, and dismantling various types of scaffolds, working platforms, and handrails.  Additionally, this is a multi-skilled position.  Candidates with experience in process piping bolt up procedures, line lift procedures, facility roustabout work, and have Scaffold Builder Cards are preferred. Candidates must be willing to learn and perform duties outside their normal craft.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Review and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work orders to determine materials and equipment required for assigned work.
    • Assemble, erect, and dismantle various types of scaffolds.
    • Use woodworking tools, power tools, and perform basic joinery techniques.
    • Perform material take-offs and material requirements.
    • Must have experience with heavy equipment support (Loaders and Cranes) to include proper, safe rigging practices to safely secure and transport heavy, awkward loads.
    • Must have the ability to work in extreme conditions (heat/cold and remote location)
    • Must be comfortable with and have the ability to work at heights.
    • Selected candidate must be willing to perform expected duties on either day shift or night shift.
    • Ability to participate in the respiratory protection program.
    • Any other duties as assigned.
    • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
    • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

     

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Minimum of four (4) year related experience required.
    • Valid driver’s license required.
    • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Scaffold Builder Card is preferred.
    • Experience in the oil and gas industry and in the arctic environment preferred.

    WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

    While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you.  All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms.   Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift.  Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp.  Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc.  Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.
