    Job Summary:

    This position exists for providing classroom instruction, assistance with the development of a quality, Business Administration program, provide quality assessment measures from the classroom instruction, and serve as a student advisor.  

     

    Department: Business Administration

    Reports to:  Academic Dean of Business Administration               

     

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

    • The ability to create and maintain a Christian professional atmosphere in all internal and external relationships.
    • A spirit of cooperation and willingness to serve as a member of a team.

    Education and Experience: 

    • A minimum of a Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
    • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a professional business environment.
    • A minimum of 1 year of higher education teaching experience preferred.

     

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Ability to articulate clearly a biblical philosophy as it relates to Business.
    • Ability to articulate clear biblical world view within the context of educating Business students.
    • Ability to utilize effective methodologies for classroom instruction.
    • Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
    • Possess strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor undergraduate students.
    • Possess excellent interpersonal and social skills and the ability to build relationships with students, faculty and community partners.
    • Ability to work with colleagues on corporate projects, specifically accreditation projects.
    • Proficiency in written and oral communication.
    • Willingness to be actively involved in student life and campus events.
    • Proficiency with word processing, general computer skills, and LBC | Capital’s instructional technologies (i.e., Learning Management System, Video Conferencing, etc.)  

     

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    Instructional Responsibilities:

    • Knowledge and ability to instruct courses within the Business Administration programs.
    • Advisement of students in the Business Administration program.
    • Participate in recruitment activities for the Business Administration programs as needed.
    • Willingness to design and develop new courses to enhance the existing curriculum.
    • Utilization of online learning platforms for instructional delivery.
    • Teach courses as assigned at the undergraduate, traditional, online, and/or adult education in face-to-face, blended, and online format which may require teaching during the day and/or evening (Load is 15 hours a semester).

     

    Administrative Responsibilities:

    • Report to the Academic Dean of Business Administration.
    • Monitor and complete ongoing assessment of student learning.
    • Participate in the review and revision of curricular offerings.
    • Maintain regular office hours of at least 10 hours a week for student and faculty consultation and support.
    • Participate in All employee meetings, department meetings, chapel, and committees as assigned.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
