Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Medical Ethics typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     JOB TITLE:

    Assistant Professor- School of Pharmacy Medicinal Chemistry

    JOB PURPOSE:

    The School of Pharmacy at the University of Wyoming invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track faculty position in the Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the level of Assistant Professor in Medicinal and Natural Products Chemistry. We are seeking an individual with demonstrated expertise in areas of research that complement ongoing research in the Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Wyoming INBRE designated research areas. Research in organic medicinal/natural product chemistry is expected. Areas of focus may include, but are not limited to neurosciences and cardiovascular disease. In addition to a competitive salary and start-up package, this position offers outstanding research resources associated with the federally funded Wyoming Sensory Biology Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE).

    The successful applicant is expected to develop and maintain an externally funded research program related to the applicant's area of expertise. The successful candidate is also expected to teach courses in medicinal and natural products chemistry, develop elective courses in their area of expertise, advise pharmacy and graduate students, and provide service to the university, college, school, and the broader professional community.

    Teach Medicinal and Natural Products Chemistry Courses and develop pharmacy and graduate electives in areas of expertise
    Research in the area of expertise
    Advise pharmacy and graduate students
    Engage in scholarly activity
    Serve on school, college, university, and professional society committees

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Candidates must have a doctoral degree and post-doctoral experience.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Peer-reviewed publications, evidence of ability to secure external grant funding, teaching experience, and good communication skills.
