Greet and check-in patients in a friendly and professional manner
Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
Verify patient insurance information
Financial collection; collect co-pays or account payments
Maintain patient records and update medical charts
Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality
Assist with medical procedures as needed for cross coverage, a plus
Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to the appropriate department
Coordinate referrals to specialists or other healthcare providers
Medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge, a plus
Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning skills
Proficient in medical scheduling systems, EHR/EMR, and software
Knowledge of medical records management and documentation practices
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
