    Opportunity:
    Sanctuary Functional Medicine is looking for a Licensed Nutritionist or Registered Dietitian who demonstrates a strong passion and eagerness to excel in Functional Health and integrative medicine and who wants to specialize in learning to treat complex chronic illnesses.  This is a unique opportunity for a Nutritionist/RD pursuing a career in functional medicine to work in an interdisciplinary program under the mentorship of Dr. Eric Potter (Internist & Pediatrician) and the Sanctuary clinical team.  Enjoy a career that is cutting edge but also truly rewarding in an environment where patients really do appreciate what you do for them. We care for patients who have complex cases such as CIRS, mold toxicity, Lyme disease, autoimmune disorders, mast cell activation, hormone dysfunction, PANS/PANDAS, cardiovascular disease, leaky gut, SIBO, Type II Diabetes, and much more.  
     
    Position Summary:
    The role of Head of Nutrition at Sanctuary Functional Medicine will create and provide integrative nutrition-based health services, program implementation and coordination for comprehensive health programs per the SFM approach. Our Head of Nutrition will be responsible for implementing a nutrition-based relationship with patients and assisting them through the process of actively working towards a more abundant life by providing support, guidance, encouragement, education, and accountability. 

    Position Responsibilities:
    •   Works with patient to elicit goals to create an abundance of life in both a group and individual setting.
    •   Fosters an environment of individual responsibility and develops an individualized and customized plan for       maximizing each patient’s ability to adhere to a health plan formulated by MD, such as assisting with 5R Gut,   therapeutic diet instructions, and meal plans. 
    •   Help patients use existing skills and develop new ones to enhance compliance, healing, and success.
    •   Collaborate and support coaching programs (Health Coach) by assisting with program needs assessment,  recommending and implementing coaching program designs, evaluating, and revising coaching programs. 
    •   Develop and conduct onsite and off-site health related nutrition and wellness seminars and training courses for  patients and staff. 
    •   Assist in the development and distribution of nutrition and health education materials both in print and digital   assets  to patients. 
    •   Review pertinent medical history, current diagnosis, and pharmaceutical/nutraceutical data via EMR.
    •   Participate in meetings, updates and team follow up to ensure quality of care.
    •   Communicates proactively within a team setting to provide positive outcomes for patients, peers, and overall   operations.
    •  Responsible for supporting operational aspects of the clinic to meet the mission/vision goals and standards for  patient satisfaction.
    •   Work closely with MD/NP to review lab results and integrate results into treatment plans.

    Required Qualifications:
    License/Certification
    • Licensed Nutrition and/or Registered Dietician or equivalent FM Certification.
    • Educated and experienced in functional medicine for a minimum of one year.
    • Additional knowledge of specific disease and lifestyle related topics such as laboratory testing, stress reduction, chronic conditions, care management.
    Additional Qualifications
    •   Demonstrate ability to work with steady stream of new and existing patients struggling with unique chronic illness, the ability to communicate effectively with a compassionate and humble nature, and to provide support to clinical staff to insure a positive outcome for patient. 
    •   Knowledge of medical health laws, ethics, and HIPAA
    •   Knowledge of clinical and coaching services with competence in a variety of clinical techniques and/or models that matches the client’s theory of change. 
    •   Creative insight pertaining to functional medicine, nutrition, disease, and clinical medicine and the ability to create educational tools around this insight. 
    •   As Head of Nutrition, you will be able to diplomatically express views that may be unpopular. Decisive despite uncertainties.
    •   To be professional, composed, positive, conscientious, innovative, and service oriented.
    •   Deals with difficult issues, listens well, seeks mutual understanding with patients and is not afraid to go the extra mile to make sure patient feels emotionally supported.

    This is a full-time onsite position that will include pre/post conference hours with clinical team, portal messaging with patients, meal planning, marketing (blog & social media, growing digital library). Competitive Salary and program development productivity bonus offered.
