RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS:
The physics program at Bethany College supports students majoring in biology, chemistry, and mathematics as well as engineering students who are part of the College's 3 2 engineering program. The person filling this position will be responsible for teaching introductory calculus-based and algebra-based physics courses with labs, computer programming courses, and upper-level physics courses. An enthusiastic, student- and learning-centered approach to teaching is required. The physics professor is expected to serve as the director of the 3 2 engineering program, coordinating with the College of Engineering at Wichita State University. The faculty member will also be an important contributor to the Bethany interdisciplinary core curriculum. Other responsibilities include assessment, student advising and mentoring, active participation in recruitment of students, and participation in Departmental and campus committees.
