The Music Director position for Namaste, Center for Spiritual Living is of vital importance to the life and the future of our vibrant spiritual community. The music program at Namaste’ is part of the spiritual practice and expansion of the community. The individual is gifted musically, is a visionary in their approach and excited to be part of a thriving, energetic and powerful spiritual community.

• Musical Fluency—the ability to read and write music as well as familiarity with many musical styles, including:
• New Thought/Spiritual

• Classical * Choir/small group direction
• Experience/Expertise in working with vocalists range and key
• Conceptualize arrangements for band and vocal groups
• Willingness to work with others and to grow the program

Desired Skills:

• Keyboard and/or guitar expertise
• Execute arrangements (notation software expertise)
• Songwriting/Composition
• Vocal ability as a soloist and/or backup

Responsibilities:

• Leads music team in creating a spiritual musical message to support Sunday Service theme and message.
• Coordinates required musical equipment for performers on Sundays.
• Plans music and provides accompaniment for Sunday.
• Manages and directs musicians and vocalists, arranges and coordinates materials and music team to perform each Sunday. Finalizes music selections and arranges and conducts rehearsals.
• Manages and coordinates Choir Coordinator regarding all performances, rehearsals and ensures quality themed material for Sundays.
• Provides musical selections to Namaste through electronic means. Coordinates regularly and consistently with senior minister on music selections and relevant theme alignment.
• Coordinates and ensures sound quality and needs with sound engineer for Sunday Service.
• Hires, directs and releases soloists, guest soloists and musicians.
• Creates and manage the budget, as approved by Senior Minister and Board of Trustees, for the music program.
