Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Nursing typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     Position Summary:

    The College of Nursing at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh invites applications for Faculty positions (open rank - Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) beginning in August 2024. To fill these tenure-track or tenured positions, we are seeking candidates who are collaborative, energetic, and have expertise in one or more nursing areas. Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, scholarship, and service.

    Responsibilities

    Expertise and experience in health care coordination and service delivery. Work collaboratively with Administrators in the pre and post licensure nursing programs to teach, develop, implement, refine, revise, and/or evaluate nursing student curriculum and policies. Maintain scholarship and service activities appropriate for rank.

    1. Promotes mission, vision, values, and strategic goals of the University and the College of Nursing.
    2. Manages classes and learning environments, selects appropriate materials to support curriculum and provides constructive feedback to students.
    3. Delivers effective instruction using technology and a variety of techniques in a manner appropriate to the course objectives.
    4. Assesses student learning, designs assessments that measure student growth, aligns assessment with learning opportunities.
    5. Promotes continual improvement as part of the cycle of teaching and learning develops and revises curriculum and instructional materials as needed.
    6. Participate in processes related to recruitment, selection, admission, advising, and progression of students consistent with College of Nursing and University admission policies, option assessment, and accreditation processes.
    7. Pursues professional development, contributes to academic discipline through research, presentations, and publications.
    8. Participates in program resource development, including simulation and obtaining intramural and extramural program support.
    9. Participate in service through appropriate discipline-specific organizations, educational organizations, statewide boards/ committees, or community activities.
    10. Serve on University and College committees as needed and as indicated in College of Nursing bylaws.
    11. Represent the University and the College of Nursing at professional activities at local, state, national, and international levels.
    12. Other duties as assigned by the Administrators of the program
    Qualifications
    Required:
    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program associated with a regionally accredited institution of higher education
    • Doctoral degree appropriate to content area or near degree completion (final semester)
    • Certification by the National Board of Certification and recertification eligible for nursing area of expertise as applicable.
    • Unencumbered license as a registered nurse and/or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and eligible for licensure in the state of Wisconsin
    • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
    Preferred:
    • At least five years of clinical experience
    • Undergraduate and/or Graduate level teaching experience
    • Distance/online teaching experience
    • Evidence of scholarship and service
