Program Manager - Biotechnology

    Given the nature of internal collaboration required for this role, it will be onsite at the company’s facility in Worcester, MA at least 4 days per week, with some remote work possible after an initial period on site full time.

     

    As a Program Manager at MetroBiotech, you will:   

    • Manage assigned projects to ensure efficient delivery of project deliverables through the consistent application of best project/portfolio management principles, business analysis and budget/resource planning.  
    • Develop resource and budget forecasts and monitor actuals for the assigned projects in concert with senior management.  Communicate deliverables for the company’s major therapeutics projects.   Prepare presentation-ready graphics on the company’s drug discovery and development programs for team and company meetings.
    • Analyze project schedules and resource allocation to inform decision making to meet milestones and budget requirements.
    • Provide leadership and direction for the identification and mediation of conflicts due to changes to project or program scope, resource needs, timing or budget. 
    • Provide the project team with project management expertise, including contribution of information and recommendations to strategic planning, project/program status reports, dashboards, budget monitoring/reporting, resource management, and issue resolution assistance.  Assist senior management in preparation of project reports for external partners.
    • Coordinate with R&D leadership, scientists, and team members in the planning and efficient execution of laboratory and contracted resources.
    • Ensure the company’s project plans capture IP strategy, document contract milestones, and are compliant with contractual, product and regulatory requirements.


     

    Qualifications – What expertise should you have?


    • A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a science discipline, and a minimum of five years of career experience in the life science, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical industries.  Experience in other health care sectors such as medical offices, hospitals, or health insurance companies is not relevant to this position.
    • Professional designation in project management and/or a minimum of 2 years relevant project management experience with large or small companies in pharmaceutical or biotech product development, managing complex cross-functional science-based projects.
    • Ability to organize and align company stakeholders to overcome issues and foster successful partnerships. Ability to influence without authority.
    • Experience in coordinating technical approaches with other business priorities to achieve critical objectives for new product development and commercialization.
    • Ability to work well with team members, contractors and collaborators across geographic distances and cultural differences.
    • A demonstrated significant positive and sustained organizational impact with previous employers.
    • Able to speak, read, write professional English.

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Project experience in either manufacturing or preclinical development.
    • Experience working with Project Management software.
    • PMP certification is a plus.
