Professor - Physics teaches courses in the discipline area of physics. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Physics provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Physics typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Eligibility Criteria
- 1 year teaching/tutoring experience.
- Have earned a B or better in the course you wish to tutor (you will also be required to pass our proficiency exam).
- Have a 3.0 (out of 4.0) GPA in your field of study (not just your overall GPA).
- Be fluent in English and have excellent communications skills.
- Ideally be able to work at least 10 hours a week (but again, you can work with just 1 student).
- Be able to work until the end of the semester you're working (i.e. if you're helping a student during the Fall quarter, you must be available to your students until the end of finals of that quarter).
