Being a Professor - Physics provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Physics typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     Pay ranges from $21 - $30 per hour depending on multiple factors, including specific location, individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience.

    In addition to the competitive pay, this role offers part-time benefits, including:

    • 401K plus 4% employer contribution after first year of employment.
    • Paid initial training and ongoing training.
    • All benefits are subject to applicable plan documents and policies.

    Responsibilities

    Our teachers work in small groups with students at a 3 student to one teacher ratio. C2 Education offers teachers strong administrative and leadership support so they can focus solely on what matters: tutoring students. Our Center Directors and District Managers for each center take care of the scheduling and communication with parents.

    • Tutor students in small groups (3 students max).
    • Tailor C2 Education’s proprietary curriculum on SAT, ACT, AP, and school subjects to students’ needs.
    • Track and analyze student progress.
    • Perform team-based activities as needed.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.).
    • Ability to tutor in-person.
    • Score at the 95th percentile on our diagnostic SAT, AP, or ACT test.
    • Excited about working with families and students to achieve their goals.
    • Eligible to work in the US.
    • A clear background check.
    • Strong passion for education.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • AP-level knowledge in at least one or more subjects.
    • Previous teaching experience highly desired. No teacher certification or licensure necessary.
