Toyon has opportunities for dynamic Engineering Physics Researchers to solve challenging real-world problems developing algorithms that combine engineering and physics principles to control autonomous air vehicles. These control algorithms include asset coordination, sensor coordination (e.g. Video, Radar), and electronics effects coordination (e.g. Passive sensing, electronic attack).
Qualified candidates will be capable of developing physics-based algorithms, modeling, and simulation. We use both classic algorithm methods (e.g. optimization techniques, Kalman Filters) and Artificial Intelligence (e.g. Reinforcement Learning, Machine Learning). We are looking for candidates trained as engineers, physicists, or applied mathematicians who enjoy working with algorithms. Experience working in a collaborative environment with configuration management and version control tools is also desired.

Candidates for the Engineering Physics Researcher position should have a strong background in engineering, computer science, physics, and/or mathematics combined with strong programing skills.

The annual pay range for the Engineering Physics Researcher position is $100,000 to $170,000.
The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on annual base compensation for the position, at a full time level of effort, exclusive of overtime, bonus, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives. Toyon Research Corporation will consider the individual candidate’s education, work experience, applicable knowledge, skills and training, among other factors, when preparing an offer of employment.
