Wilkes University invites applicants for an open Physics high school teaching position in the Upward Bound Program for the summer session. Upward Bound is a federally funded Trio Program, which provides support to participants in their preparation for college and ultimately, in their higher education pursuits.
The successful candidate is responsible for implementing the academic component of the Program by means of teaching core content to a small group of high school level students in each class period. A Bachelor's degree in Education, Engineering, Science, Mathematics, and/or a related field is required.
Please note that this is only a part-time/temporary position with a competitive hourly wage. Dates run from June 17th through July 25th and classes are held throughout the week, Monday - Thursday (8:00 A.M. - 12:00P.M.). You may or may not work the whole 4 hours, depending on the class size and student need; minimum of one (1), 50 minute class period, Monday - Thursday. Hired teacher will be informed ahead of time.
