Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Program Coordinator - Psychology (12-month)

  • Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Psychology Program Coordinator. This position is classified as faculty which requires the candidate to deliver quality instruction for face-to-face, and online classes. If needed, the Program Coordinator will teach classes at local high schools and Fort Liberty military base.

    Qualified candidates will possess excellent computer skills, demonstrate evidence of flexible work experiences and a willingness to change; be open-minded, fair, and possess the ability to see multiple perspectives; be willing to take risks and accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.
    Duties
    Successfully perform duties outlined in the Organizational Handbook for the Program Coordinator including but not limited to the following:
    • Provide direct supervision to the faculty for Psychology classes.


    • Assist the Dean of Arts & Humanities as chief recruiter of potential faculty for the Psychology Department; initiate the interview and selection process; provide initial divisional orientation and training to new hires.

    • Assist the Dean of Arts & Humanities by taking lead on scheduling and staffing requirements for all Psychology classes.

    • Provide input to the Dean of Arts & Humanities regarding divisional budget needs to include part-time salaries, supplies, equipment, travel, and other costs.

    • Develop, review, and recommend new or modified course outlines, supplies, materials, and textbooks; maintain currency of instructional techniques and methods.

    • Recruit and advise students, process student documentation, prepare reports, and perform internal audits.

    • Monitor and improve student retention.

    • Manage and provide input on program reviews, assessments, and other departmental activities.

    • Comply with instructional responsibilities outlined for instructional faculty in the Organizational Handbook.

    • Communicate with faculty and coworkers regularly.

    • Monitor, prepare, and complete tasks in order to meet deadlines.

    • Provide quality customer service to students, faculty, and staff.

    • Participate in committees and other activities, as assigned.
    Minimum Qualifications
    Master’s Degree in Psychology or Master’s Degree with 18 graduate hours in Psychology.

    Communication, both oral and written, skills necessary. Must possess advance skills in using Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word). Applicants not meeting this minimum requirement will not be considered for this position.
    Preferred Requirements
    Teaching experience at the community college or four-year college level. On-line teaching experience in Blackboard.
