Professor - Rehabilitation teaches courses in the discipline area of rehabilitation and therapy. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Rehabilitation provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Rehabilitation typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     Position description

    The Department of Mathematics (http://www.math.ucsd.edu), within the School of Physical Sciences at the University of California, San Diego, is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body. We invite applications for a position at the Assistant Professor level in all areas of Mathematics and Statistics. The position is subject to availability of funding.

    Teaching and research in mathematics and related topics will be expected. Ideally, candidates will have skills and interest in teaching lecture courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

    Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on UC pay scales. The starting date for the position is July 1, 2024.

    Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

    The candidate must be ABD in Mathematics, or a closely related field at the time of application
    Evidence of and/or demonstrated ability of scholarly impact and research productivity.
    Evidence of and/or demonstrated ability to teach and advise students.
    Evidence of contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

    Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

    Demonstrated excellence in research and teaching. Candidate must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a related field prior to the start date.
