The Position

Social Workers are licensed professionals who provide case management services to children, families, vulnerable adults with intellectual, developmental, physical disabilities, serious mental illness, and older adults (collectively referred to as "vulnerable adults") and other individuals within local communities and institutions.

Social Work Supervisor II's supervise a unit of Social Worker III's engaged in case management having a high proportion of complex and sensitive case work needs in child protective services, foster care, adoptions, adult protective services, and/or guardianships. Incumbents routinely review and monitor cases requiring the application of advanced principles of the social work profession, and case planning directives affecting critically and chronically dysfunctional families, children, and/or vulnerable adults whose welfare is at high risk.

Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is recruiting for a Social Work Supervisor 2 position within Adult Protective Services (APS) located in Reno, Nevada. The Social Work Supervisor 2 incumbent will be under general direction of a regional manager in the Aging and Disability Services Division. They will be responsible for supervising a unit of case management Social Workers. APS Social Work Supervisors must provide supervision and guidance to APS Social Workers who are offering interventions to vulnerable adults who have been abused, neglected, exploited, isolated, or abandoned. Social Work Supervisors regularly review and monitor cases that require the application of advanced principles of APS social work. Supervision of case planning affects the welfare and safety of vulnerable adults that are victims of maltreatment and/or polyvictimization.
