Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Social Work typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Worker to join our team.
Qualifications
•Must have a current Social Work license, in good standing with the state (as required)
•Must have, as a minimum, one (1) year experience in a human services field in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility or other related medical facility
•Must be able to organize and prioritize many tasks effectively
•Ideal candidate must be a skilled communicator, director and motivator.
Responsibilities
•Responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing of the social service programs of the facility
•Develop and implement policies and procedures for identifying the medically-related social and emotional needs of the patients/residents
•Assists in providing solutions to social and practical environmental problems, including seeking financial assistance, discharge planning (including collaboration with community agencies) and providing referrals to other community agencies when specialized assistance is required
