Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Special Education typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Elementary Education Professor

  • Duties

    The Department of Education is seeking a full-time professor to teach in the undergraduate program at Talladega College beginning in August 2024. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching as well as to represent the program on college committees. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate a willingness to collaborate and co-teach across departments. A desire to interact and work with students in the capacity to advise, mentor and help with field experience is necessary. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with college faculty and staff, as well as host teachers from surrounding school districts.

    Qualifications

    The successful candidate will hold an earned doctorate in elementary education or related area and will have a minimum of three years teaching experience in an early childhood setting. A criminal background check is required before employment and must be able to secure an Alabama Teaching Certificate.
