Elevated Education is seeking a Part-Time Special Education Teacher with exceptional instructional, mentorship, leadership, classroom management, assessment, and listening skills. This is a part-time position, requiring work two to three days a week from 10 am to 2 pm. The role involves supporting campuses both in-person and virtually in Tucson and Phoenix.
The Special Education Teacher plays a crucial role in Elevated Education and must be adept at delivering blended instruction effectively and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching in an alternative school and/or behavioral health setting, demonstrate strong classroom management skills, proficiency in implementing lesson plans, classroom programs, curriculum, differentiation of instruction, and organizing classroom activities that foster the educational development of each student.
Responsibilities:
- Part-time delivery of services based on students’ individualized educational plans and 504’s at all campuses.
- Support SPED students across multiple locations in the Phoenix Metro and Tucson area.
- Identify, evaluate, and provide services for eligible special education students.
- Assist as required to manage confidential files, ensuring the confidentiality and security of documentation.
- Observe classrooms and consult with regular education teachers.
- Conduct small group classes and intervention groups for special education and at-risk students, in line with IEP goals and requirements.
- Collaborate with regular education teachers to implement IEPs and meet the needs of special education students.
- Document observations of special education or at-risk students in their regular classrooms.
- Participate in meetings and conferences related to special education.
- Meet with parents to discuss students' progress or issues.
- Attend staff meetings, in-service training, and other presentations, as scheduled.
- Regular consultation with Administration to ensure effective communication.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Special Education preferred (not required).
- Must be certified in Special Education.
- Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card.
