Summary: The Parent Resource Center Assistant Coordinator will work at the office in the Ivy Creek School to assist the Parent Resource Center Coordinator with the planning and presentation of educational events for families of students in special education, as well as gathering and disseminating information on local resources to support all areas of special education. The Assistant Coordinator will receive training on multiple aspects of special education services in the Piedmont Regional Education Program service area, to include the school divisions of Albemarle County, Charlottesville City, Fluvanna County, Greene County, Louisa County, Madison County, Nelson County, and Orange County.
Job Duties: Assist in the planning and coordinating of Parent Resource Center (PRC) events by developing marketing materials, setting up RSVP forms, and promoting the events. Duties of the position include:
Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Some experience or knowledge of disabilities and special education
Strong communication skills, both oral and written communication
Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, and Google Drive
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Excellent time management skills and ability to meet critical deadlines
Compensation: This is a 20 hour per week position. Compensation range is $17.00 - $32.00 per hour and is based on experience. There are no benefits associated with this position.
