Program Assistant (Non-Profit) provides operational and administrative support for one or more programs of a non-profit organization. Contributes to fundraising, budgeting, research, and community outreach efforts. Being a Program Assistant (Non-Profit) prepares a program event calendar, schedules meetings, and coordinates training sessions. Responds to inquiries from the public with information and materials. Additionally, Program Assistant (Non-Profit) processes and maintains a database related to donors, fundraising, volunteers, and partners using a client relationship management (CRM) or another system and generates reports. HOURS: Full-time or part-time hours available in the summer and over school holidays. Program hours are from 7am to 6pm, Monday through Friday. Hours within that timeframe are negotiable. Non-benefitted position.

RESPONSIBILITIES: If you are looking for a summer job working with kids in a fun and casual environment, LSS Childcare & Education Services has a variety of opportunities available. Our Summer Program Assistants supervise children ages 5 and up. Staff members lead children in recreational activities, including arts and crafts, games, and implementing lesson plans designed to be both fun and educational. Our staff supervise regular trips to the local spray park, libraries, parks, swimming pool, and on field trips throughout the community. This is a great opportunity for college students or teachers looking for a summer job.
LSS provides summer programming for children in four locations in Sioux Falls: Southern Hills United Methodist, Here4Youth, Hilltop United Methodist, and East Side Lutheran. Staff have an opportunity to supervise youth from a variety of backgrounds at our various locations, including economically disadvantaged youth, English language learners, and youth with special medical and behavioral needs.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Post high school education and experience with children preferred, but not required. Must be 16 years of age and be willing to develop supportive relationships with young children. Must successfully complete all agency background checks. Some positions require a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain approved driver status.
