    Description
    Awareness is Preparedness!

    The Division of Emergency Management is hiring a Program Coordinator that coordinates all inter- or intra-unit administrative functions of a specific program(s) on a statewide basis.

    Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
    • Serves as the policy and program analyst for the development and implementation of the HazMat Program.
    • Conducts in-depth analysis and evaluation of future program actions and their fiscal and programmatic impacts upon Agency, Branch, and Section operations.
    • Provides reports and recommendations to management in support of the program's fiscal and technical goals.
    • Coordinates contracts for and the scheduling of HazMat training.
    • Provides support with on-site fiscal and program audits.
    • Performs research into the effectiveness of cross agency operations in the implementation of establishing preparedness milestones of the HazMat Program.
    • Presents briefings, gives fiscal recommendations and advises management on programmatic changes in support of planning and preparedness efforts so as to provide the maximum level of protection possible.
    • Assists with general emergency response plan activities to identify specific hazards, develop potential scenarios and models based on those hazards, and then propose possible courses of action to be taken by State and County emergency response organizations during HazMat incidents and activations of either the State or County Emergency Operations Centers.
    • Participates in exercises and training events designed to validate scenarios and or models created.
    • Coordinates the development of GIS data layers and their integration into the HazMat hazard modeling and response systems.
    • This individual is part of the staff for the State Emergency Operations Center and may serve in various roles, including that of Hazard Analyst during activations involving hazardous materials.
    • This individual is part of the staff for the State Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during activations and actively participates in training and exercises relevant to EOC activations.
    Minimum Requirements
    EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

    EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional experience in management or administration.

    Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.

    Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Administrative or business experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
    Working Conditions
    Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Minimal travel may be required.
