    The Program Coordinator is responsible for organizing, planning, and conducting NAMI Orange County programs. This position acts as the liaison between the program leaders, participants, community partners and NAMI OC.

    • Manage Signature Program classes by conducting outreach efforts, relationship building and follow up to ensure all three areas are completed with quality and in a timely manner.
    • Contact participants interested in NAMI-OC programs on a weekly basis.
    • Find locations available for classes throughout the County.
    • Maintain and further develop relations with partner locations.
    • Foster existing community partnerships and develop new connections with community organizations.
    • Contact teachers and schedule them for classes based on their availability.
    • Maintain the fidelity of NAMI curriculum for each program and class.
    • Follow all NAMI Orange County and NAMI National guidelines.
    • Collaborate with team members to achieve the goals of each program and contract.
    • Create a roster of participants for each class and provide to teachers prior to the start of each class.
    • Oversee volunteer teachers on a weekly basis to ensure that participants are attending and be sure any participants missing class are called to follow up.
    • One week in advance, see that each teaching team has the resources necessary to teach the class.
    • Attend classes as requested by teachers or as needed for guaranteed success.
    • Debrief the teaching team after each class providing feedback relative to the evaluations, members, volunteers and donations.
    • Collect and inventory all supplies after a class concludes.
    • Obtain recommendations from teachers of which participants would make successful volunteer teachers
    • Facilitate public presentations and webinars, as needed.
    • Identify tasks to be completed by volunteers and work with those volunteers to ensure that tasks are completed properly.
    • Write and submit monthly reports for your programs to your Supervisor as required by the contract.
    • Utilize our Google docs system, or other identified software, to maintain the names of those that are interested in taking one of the three classes. Those waitlisted
    names need to be contacted weekly by the coordinator.

    • Maintain all files and records required by NAMI National and MHSA.
    • Complete other duties as assigned
    Serve as a role model in carrying out the NAMI Orange County mission. Direct all activities towards the fulfillment of the NAMI Orange County mission.

    • Establish and maintain an environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and ethical behavior.
    • Maintain regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
    • Support other members of the team and their work.
    Other Duties: This job description incorporates the essential functions and duties required for this position. However, other duties may be required and assigned at times and as determined by a supervisor in order to meet the needs of the organization.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
    • Ability to research, plan, organize, and conduct programs.
    • Ability to comfortably utilize a collaborative approach to teaching and learning.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex material.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups of people.
    • Proficiency in computer programs such as Google Suite, Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
    Bachelor’s degree in the Human Services, Public Health or Behavioral Sciences; may substitute 2 years related direct service experience.

    Must possess valid driver's license with a good driving record, plus ability to provide own transportation to complete travel requirements of job.
