    JOB SUMMARY
     
    The Director of Event Management will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end execution of events, from concept development through post-event analysis. This individual will lead a talented team, collaborating with cross-functional departments to deliver high-quality, engaging, and logistically flawless events. The successful candidate will possess a strong blend of strategic thinking, creative flair, and meticulous attention to detail.

    Education and Experience
    • 2-year Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business, or a related field.
    • years of experience in event management, with a proven track record of successfully executing a variety of events.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
    • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
     
     
    CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
     
    Strategic Planning:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive event management strategy aligned with organizational goals.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure events contribute to overall business objectives.
     
    Team Leadership:
     
    • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of event professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
    • Provide guidance on event planning, logistics, and execution.
    • Perform monthly F&B forecasting.
    • Manage all group room projecting.
    • Manage all Event Management, Group Housing and Support staff payroll.
    Event Conceptualization and Design:
     
    • Work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to understand event objectives and requirements.
    • Develop creative and innovative event concepts that align with client expectations and brand standards.
    Logistics and Operations:
     
    • Oversee the end-to-end logistics of events, including venue selection, vendor management, budgeting, and timeline adherence.
    • Implement and enforce best practices for efficient event execution.
    Quality Assurance:
     
    • Ensure the highest standard of quality and attention to detail in all aspects of event delivery.
    • Conduct post-event evaluations and analysis to continually improve future events.
    Budget Management:
     
    • Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective planning and adherence to financial targets.
    Client Relationship Management:
     
    • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring their expectations are exceeded.
     
     
     
     
    Supportive Functions
     
    • Participate in the development of short and long term financial and operational goods of the resort.
     
    • Ensure that guest satisfaction Guest Service Satisfaction rating scores (G.S.S.) is consistently obtained and maintained.
    •  Champions the communication and proper use of total compensation systems, tools, programs, policies, etc.
    •  Creates and implement incentive programs directed towards property priorities.
     
    Managing Staff Development Activities
     
     
    • Ability to study, analyze and interpret complex activities and/or information in order to improve new practices or develop new approaches.
    • Ability to make decisions with only general policies and procedures available for guidance.
    • Ability to apply supervisory/management soft skills.
    • Must possess communication skills in terms of the ability to negotiate, convince, sell and influence professionals, employees and/or hotel guests.
     
    Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations, including, but not limited to the following statutes and their state and local analogues (where applicable): Title VII, ADEA, Equal Pay Act, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, FMLA, and NLRA
     
    Other Duties
    Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.  In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required. This will include various weekends, holidays and flexible work schedule is required based on demands of the seasonality and needs of the resort operations.
     
    Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with both WESTIN and Dolphin Management rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel’s facilities.  Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
     
    Grooming
    All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per WESTIN standards.
