Program Management Office Manager manages day-to-day activities in the Program Management Office (PMO) to ensure programs and projects meet organization goals and requirements. Implements and provides guidance related to PMO processes and policies, oversees the work of project management staff, and works with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects and programs. Being a Program Management Office Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Program Management Office Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Tracks, reviews, and reports the progress to meet the performance objectives defined in the project management plan                 
    • Integrates outcomes across functions ensuring best practices, techniques and tools for project planning, execution, project management, milestones/deliverables tracking, communication and key performance metrics are elements of projects that are coordinated, prioritized, and managed to meet stakeholder and project goals         
    • Creates and maintains integrated program and project plans; establishes high level and detailed planning of milestones, risks, mitigations strategies and tasks to guide both project execution and project control, to meet or exceed project/program completion                 
    • Manages reviews at execution level and occasionally up to executive levels within the organization to resolve issues and make decisions                   
    • Schedules and facilitates regular and ad-hoc team meetings, defines agendas, summarizes action items, and maintains minutes     
    • Facilitates a neutral, open, transparent communication, horizontally and vertically to make decisions and resolve conflict           
    • Drives accountability and cross functional agendas at strategic and tactical levels to deliver on time, on budget with high compliance and quality without direct authority
    • Ensures continual improvement by taking courses or otherwise updating skills related to communication [written and verbal], negotiation and collaboration
