Summary/Objective
In keeping with our organization’s goal of improving the lives of the Resident’s we serve, the Assistant Business Office Manager assists the Business Office Manager in the daily accounting functions of the facility including financial record keeping, billing, and making financial deposits and withdraws from various accounts. This position administers the Resident trust fund, petty cash account, provides billing and collection services and operates the Resident’s bank.
Essential Functions
1. Assists the Business Office Manager in preparing individual Resident accounts and provide copies of statements.
2. Assists the BOM in preparing and distrubiting monthly cash allowances.
3. Assists the BOM in creating and distrubiting monthly billing statements.
4. Assist Residents with the completion of medical assistance applications and verify eligibility.
5. Completes representative payee forms on behalf of Resident’s who are unable to do so on their own.
7. Maintains and updates filing system for the Business Office.
8. Reviews weekly account receivables and payables with the Administrator or Business Office manager. Assure that established infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained at all times. Follow established safety precautions when preforming tasks and using equipment and supplies.
10. Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of Resident’s and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment.
11. Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with Resident’s, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
12. Answers and responds to call lights promptly and courteously when working in Resident care areas.
13. Reports all Resident concerns to the appropriate department head.
14. Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.
