We are currently seeking a Sr. Manager of Project Management Office (PMO) to join our Enterprise Technology & Enablement team. We are open to a remote work arrangement.

     

    The role will be responsible for overall governance within the project delivery area to include project initiation, quarterly PI Planning, value tracking, D&I control compliance, bi-monthly project reviews, maintaining Altria’s SDLC and PMM, and ensuring project management methodologies are implemented across the organization. Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Strategy and Enablement, the role will collaborate with key business partners to drive critical initiatives and improve project delivery processes.

    What you'll be doing:

    • Overseeing the entire project portfolio, prioritizing projects based on strategic objectives and resource availability.
    • Monitoring project progress, identifying potential risks and issues, and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.
    • Establishing and maintaining project management standards, processes, and methodologies.
    • Collaborating with key partners to understand project requirements, objectives, and expectations.
    • Leading quarterly PI Planning activities
    • Communicating project status, risks, and issues to partners in a clear and concise manner.
    • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners.
    • Collaborating with project managers to ensure their execution methods meet all compliance requirements.
    • Educating project managers on new practices and processes.
    • Finding opportunities for process improvement and implementing methodologies to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Driving initiatives to optimize project management tools, templates, and methodologies.
    • Monitoring industry trends and methodologies to ensure the PMO remains innovative and competitive.

    We want you to have:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems/Computer Science or related field. Master's degree preferred.
    • PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent project management certification required.
    • 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
    • Consistent track record of successfully handling complex projects and portfolios.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client management skills
    • Experience implementing project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, ADO, JIRA).
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment and effectively handle contending priorities.

    The starting salary is based on but not limited to experience, knowledge, and qualifications in determining compensation decisions. The Salary Range for this position is: $124,900.00 - $190,450.00 / annually.
