    Job Description:
    The University at Albany strives to integrate teaching and experiential education through student research, service-learning, education abroad, internship opportunities, and course-based experiences. The Minerva Center for High Impact Learning provides a central hub for many High Impact Practices at UAlbany. Reporting to the Director of Experiential Education, the Program Manager provides critical administrative and programmatic support for experiential and high impact learning initiatives across campus.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with the Director on the development of new programs and initiatives that support the expansion and enhancement of high impact practices such as undergraduate research, project-based learning, and skills badges.
    • Track student participation in undergraduate research, skills badges, project-based learning, and any newly developed Minerva Center offerings.
    • Partner with IRPE, the Registrar's Office, academic departments, and others to manage experiential learning course attribute coding and tracking.
    • Manage skills badges, including proposal process, building and issuing badges on Credly, maintaining content on Moodle and Brightspace, and providing support for content developers and instructors.
    • Work with ITS and OCM to develop and maintain a project-based learning/undergraduate research project portal, which serves students, faculty, and external partners.
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to provide undergraduate research and project-based learning resources that support student advising and student-facing programming.
    • Work with the director to develop a toolkit of resources for faculty to support best practices for high impact practices.
    • Provide resources to faculty and other researchers to support applications for external funding.
    • Manage undergraduate research award cycle, including convening a committee of faculty to evaluate award applications, updating application materials based on donor feedback and to create process efficiencies, notifying students of funding decisions, and managing internal administrative processes for award distribution.
    • Administer Experiential Education Mini-Grants program, which provides funding to faculty who offer experiential education opportunities to students.
    • Coordinate with faculty and staff, students, and experiential learning sites to facilitate affiliation agreement process.
    • Serve as primary point of contact with external vendors who help UAlbany deliver project-based learning opportunities.
    • Perform marketing and promotional outreach to drive student engagement in experiential and high impact practices, including developing and maintaining website content, writing for publications and other marketing materials, updating social media accounts, tabling at events, and more.
    • Collaborate with University Libraries to pilot and maintain an ePortfolio system.
    • As appropriate, recruit, hire, and supervise undergraduate and graduate assistants.
    • Provide administrative support for the annual University Showcase.
    • Some evening and weekend hours may be required.

    Requirements:
    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
    • Two or more years of relevant experience.
    • Project management experience with a demonstrated ability to develop programs from idea to launch and then to scale.
    • Ability to analyze data, extract patterns, and convert these into actionable steps and programmatic suggestions.
    • Demonstrated interest and understanding of the current higher education landscape, particularly undergraduate research.
    • Willingness and ability to take initiative as appropriate.
    • Demonstrated ability to work well with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
    • Demonstrated experience in addressing issues of diversity and multiculturalism and in building community among different groups in university and/or community settings.
    • Ability to be highly organized, to prioritize effectively, and complete tasks in a timely manner.
    • Excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills.
    • Understanding of program marketing, including ability to use social media, complete basic website updates, etc.
    • Ability to analyze data, extract patterns, and convert these into actionable steps and programmatic suggestions.
    • Ability to oversee and manage undergraduate and graduate assistants.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's degree from an accredited institution.
    • Experience working with Microsoft Office, EAB, IAS/PeopleSoft, DARS, JotForm, Brightspace, and other similar applications is preferred.

    Professional Rank and Salary Range: Senior Staff Assistant, SL3; $55,000-57,000.
