Program Manager coordinates and monitors the scheduling, pricing, and technical performance of company programs. Negotiates and prepares contracts by considering the financial conditions, resources, and contractual requirements. Being a Program Manager develops new business and expands product line. Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules, develops solutions to program problems, and directs work of incumbents assigned to program from various departments. Additionally, Program Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to program team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Prepares proposals to win new programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a department head. The Program Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager.     The Nest Coffee House seeks to hire an energetic, flexible, shop manager with experience in the food service/coffee shop industry who will be responsible for the daily operations of our coffee shop. The manager's principal responsibilities are to supervise staff, oversee kitchen processes, oversee ordering, perform maintenance and repairs, process payments, and maintain a clean and presentable environment within the coffee house. The ideal candidate will have both management and leadership skills and will be able to ensure that all duties within the coffee shop are executed with customer service in mind. Because the shop employs and supports young adults who are neurodiverse as well as serves as a gathering spot for the local community, we are seeking a strong leader with compassion and understanding to head up the shop team and maintain our environment if kindness and compassion.

    Coffee Shop Manager Responsibilities Include:

    • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, support and retain coffee house staff of 10-14 including neurodiverse young adults at the heart of our mission
    • Oversee scheduling of staff and ensure proper shop coverage
    • Oversee budget and actively seek to lower operational costs while expanding the shop’s customer base
    • Maintain a clean,organized and inviting environment
    • Complete food preparation and kitchen operations
    • Oversee food offerings, recipes, and ordering
    • Adhere to all health codes
    • Cross-train for all shop positions as needed
    • Maintain all equipment and tools
    • Address building and grounds issues with landlord
    • Address food quality and customer service needs and work to resolve issues promptly
    • Oversee onsite and offsite catering and food trailer events
    • Oversee Doggie Barks operations including staffing, supplies, production, sales and delivery
    • Collaborate to support the NEST employment program interns and job coaches staff under the supervision of Executive Director and Program Director.

    Coffee Shop Manager Job Requirements:

    • High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or Business Management is preferred
    • 3 Years Experience working in the food or hospitality industry.
    • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and processes
    • Hold a Serve Safe Food handler’s license
    • Proven management skills with exemplary organizational, time management, problem solving, multitasking and customer service skills
    • Positive and effective communication and team management skills – verbal and written
    • Availability for daytime, afternoon and some evening or weekend hours as needed
    • Understanding and working knowledge of neurodiversity and support needs for neurodiverse young adults preferred

    Job Type: Part Time

    Hours: 25– 35 hours per week

    Pay Rate: $18-$24/hour
