We are looking for a self- directed individual with exceptional written and verbal communication along with strong interpersonal skills. This person will have the skills to appropriately prioritize and organize activities related to the program. He or she will build relationships with donors, executives and key constituents and compassionately engage with families and their children living with a rare disease. This person will plan and execute oversight of students enrolled in the minor to ensure course requirements are met. He or she will plan and execute key educational summits/events and coordinate student internship opportunities with biotech partners. In addition, this person will be responsible for supporting students that are engaged in community based educational opportunities.
This position is perfect for a team player that enjoys working with others. There are many components to the Program Manager position so flexibility and organizational skills are essential. This creative person will plan, create, and execute content for our website as well as social media, news articles, invitations, and related communications. Development of competency with relevant university applications to include student records and academic records is necessary to be a successful member of the team.
This person will work with the Director to prepare program budgets, analyze the actual results against budgets and produce a year-end report for our corporate partners, principal donors and program oversight committees.The key to being successful in this position is the desire to help those living with rare diseases and ensuring students involved in the program are supported as they develop skills to advocate for patient families in need.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Provide ongoing support to the Minor in Science and Patient Advocacy to include course curriculum, visiting speakers, managing events, communicating with external partners, patient families, students, and Notre Dame staff and faculty.2. Provide support and resources for students enrolled in the community engagement course. Communicate with patient service organizations, develop and execute evaluation surveys to community partners, review students' submissions on Canvas including weekly assignments and program summary.3. Academic/Student Engagement: Oversee all student operational and administrative processes for those interested or enrolled in the Minor4. Review student progress to ensure satisfactory completion of the program requirements5. Hire and Manage student volunteers as needed.6. Marketing: Develop ongoing program of marketing and communications to include regular update of website, brochures, and other advertisement needs of the Minor.7. Create social media campaigns to heighten awareness about program8. Create additional ways of communication with students, faculty and external partners.9. Work with external partners to ensure uniformity in all media communications10. Schedule quarterly and yearly meetings with external partners11. Budgeting: Work with the Director in developing program budgets, analysis of results against the budget and producing year end reports.12. Manage all logistics for visiting speakers, event attendees, patients and caregivers (transportation or reservations as needed)13. Manage all logistics of meetings, program calendars, etc14. Develop competence in university applications such as GPS, courseleaf, eforms, Glez and Canvas
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- Science related degree
- 5-6 years experience in administrative, project management, or related
- Use of personal computer and related software
Preferred Qualifications:
Health related background a plus
