Program Manager coordinates and monitors the scheduling, pricing, and technical performance of company programs. Negotiates and prepares contracts by considering the financial conditions, resources, and contractual requirements. Being a Program Manager develops new business and expands product line. Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules, develops solutions to program problems, and directs work of incumbents assigned to program from various departments. Additionally, Program Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to program team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Prepares proposals to win new programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a department head. The Program Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Program Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Element has an opening for a Program Manager at our Bend, OR facility. The main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to providing customer support and operational support for the execution of Extractable and Leachable (E&L) studies. The Program Manager will work closely with clients and internal staff to develop and design their E&L programs.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop relationships with customers and communicate with the customers during a study life-cycle
    • Participate in operational/commercial team activities and goals
    • Prepare a review study quotations and proposals
    • Develop and design E&L studies, communicate designs internally and externally
    • Coordinate the execution of studies with laboratory personnel and assess and maintain capacity
    • Prepare and review protocols, and reports
    • Actively pursue continuous improvement, extractable and leachable continuing education

    Skills / Qualifications

    • B.S. in chemistry or related field
    • Experience in Program or Project Management
    • Experience with extractable/leachable studies is preferred
    • Strong teamwork mindset and proven leadership skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively across the organization; strong written, oral and presentation skills
    • Ability to have difficult conversations with customers, management, and other team members
