Legal Services of North Florida is a non-profit legal firm and does not charge a fee for services to our clients. LSNF works to meet the legal needs of children, the elderly, victims of abuse, and those with disabilities. LSNF's priority areas of representation include support for families; preserving the home; maintaining economic stability; safety, stability, and health; and serving populations with special vulnerabilities. These translate to cases involving Disaster, Family Law, Housing, Public Benefits, Employment, Education, and Health Care issues.

    The Disaster Project Assistant will work with our Disaster Project team staff including attorneys, paralegals, and outreach professionals that serve our communities in preparation before a storm and in recovery post-storm. The Disaster Project Assistant supports and coordinates efforts to partner with community agencies and partner organizations across our sixteen-county service area with outreach and education. The Disaster Project Assistant works very closely with others to coordinate and plan several statewide meetings and an annual conference.

    Candidates should be detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and work well within a team. Ideal candidates will have experience with Microsoft Office products and be comfortable using technology tools to improve efficiencies. The ideal candidate will have experience collaborating with a 5- to 10-member team and experience supporting event planning. Individuals must be skilled in both written and verbal communication methods. The minimum requirement is a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate AND one year of office administration or office assistant work. Must be experienced in Microsoft Office products and willing to learn new technologies and platforms.

    Entry-level salary of $34,000 is negotiable. Candidates with experience beyond the minimum qualifications can expect a higher salary. Comprehensive fringe benefits package includes:

    • Full time is a four day (35 hour) work week
    • Paid time off includes: holidays, sick leave, and personal leave (which after two years, increases to four weeks per year)
    • 100% fully paid health insurance for employee & dependent children after 60 days of employment
