Program Specialist (Non-Profit) plans and coordinates one or more programs of a non-profit organization. Coordinates fundraising, budgeting, and community outreach efforts. Being a Program Specialist (Non-Profit) develops an event calendar and implements programs that align with the organization's vision, mission, and goals. Creates program materials, establishes staffing requirements, and ensures that the program achieves stated objectives. Additionally, Program Specialist (Non-Profit) measures the performance of programs and makes adjustments to optimize results. Utilizes a client relationship management (CRM) or another system to organize information and facilitate outreach communications. Works with partners on special events that publicize the organization and its programs to the community. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Program Specialist (Non-Profit) work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Amarillo College is a 2-year community college and an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music located in Amarillo, Texas. Amarillo is a town rich in arts and culture, with possibilities to perform with a professional symphony, opera, several theater outlets and numerous church and other performance venues. Amarillo College is seeking part-time Supplement Music Instructors to teach applied instrumental and vocal private lessons and/or other music courses for non-academic credit for students of all ages.

    GENERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATION:

    • Required: Associate's Degree.
    • Preferred: Master's Degree.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Required: If candidate has an Associate degree, mastery of subject content matter must include one-year of teaching or performance experience. If candidate has a Master’s degree, no performance or teaching experience is required.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform teaching activities, including classroom instruction, directing projects, and assisting with student coursework, research and internships.
    • Plan, develop and present organized classroom instructions and learning opportunities for students in accordance with approved course outlines.
    • Teach day and/or evening courses as required.
    • Develop curriculum.
    • Confer with students on course materials.
    • Review examinations, performances and papers.
    • Prepare syllabus i.e., determine course content that is consistent with the catalog description.
    • Select instructional materials (textbooks).
    • Attend briefings on procedures, advising, registration, and general policy.
    • Assist with registration.
    • Teach applied instrumental and vocal private lessons and/or other music courses for non-academic credit students of all ages.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Knowledge of subject matter and related and/or relevant topics and issues in the discipline
    • Ability to work with and motivate students.

    • Ability to work well with a team or independently.
    • Excellent oral, written and listening skills, including computer skills sufficient for email, course development and course management.
    • Must understand and apply learner-centered and high impact instructional methods.
    • Must be able to deal with people in a professional manner.
    • Must be able to work with students of diverse backgrounds.
    • Demonstrate commitment to student success, innovation, collaboration and instructional quality.
    • Demonstrate and maintain competence in the use of instructional technology.

    Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time, and be able to move materials weighing up to 25 pounds.

    Working Conditions: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying events if necessary.)

    Salary: Hourly rate of $20
