Creates program materials, establishes staffing requirements, and ensures that the program achieves stated objectives. Additionally, Program Specialist (Non-Profit) measures the performance of programs and makes adjustments to optimize results. Utilizes a client relationship management (CRM) or another system to organize information and facilitate outreach communications. Works with partners on special events that publicize the organization and its programs to the community. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Program Specialist (Non-Profit) work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Description

     

    Job Summary:

    Incumbent supports the provisions of services outlined in the Performance Standards for accomplishing the goals and objectives established in the Disabilities and Mental Health service area.  Such support includes, but is not limited to, providing training and technical assistance to child development staff, and monitoring and evaluating delivery of disabilities and mental health services.

     

    Major Responsibilities/Activities:

    • Responsible for coordinating with Center Managers the use of community and agency resources.
    • Manage service agreements as directed by the Early Childhood Service Manager.
    • Responsible for monitoring outcomes of Disabilities and Mental Health Services, and the development and implementation of strategies that will result in the improvement of these outcomes.
    • Responsible for participating in the development of plans for educational services as well as disabilities and mental health services and facilitation of the implementation of these plans.
    • Responsible for preparation of regular reports to the Manager on the progress of objectives established by Enrichment Services Program, Inc. for the educational service area, and the submission of these reports as required by the Manager.
    • Responsible for participating on service delivery and multidisciplinary teams as directed by the Manager.
    • Responsible for providing training to new staff on disabilities and mental health services as directed by the Early Childhood Services Manager
    • Responsible for providing in service training and Pre service training as directed by the Early Childhood Services Manager.
    • Responsible for providing technical assistance as needed.

     

    • Responsible for regularly reading appropriate material to maintain knowledge of current laws, rules, regulations, administrative guidelines, etc. relating to Early Head Start and Head Start.
    • Responsible for regularly attending seminars to stay abreast of current changes in Disabilities and Mental Health.
    • Responsible for monitoring compliance in all disabilities and mental health areas as designated by the monitoring systems.

    Disabilities/Mental Health Specialist

    • Responsible for root cause analysis and strategies to correct areas of non-compliance.
    • Responsible for generating In kind
    • Responsible for providing information to other agencies and organizations regarding our programs, as requested
    • Responsible for identifying needs by evaluating applicable program data and information from other sources
    • Responsible for performing other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Early Childhood Services Director Development Manager

    Qualifications


    Minimum Requirements:

     

    • Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) in Psychology, Sociology, Health Child Development, Health Science or related field.
    • Minimum of one year of experience working in an early childhood setting.
    • LPN Certificate preferred.
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted.

     

     

    Essential Mental Functions:

    • Knowledge and ability to demonstrate good communication, problem solving, planning and facilitation skills.
    • Possess the skills necessary to identify, plan and conduct/facilitate training and technical assistance.

     

    Essential Physical Functions:

    Incumbent is regularly required to walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.  Occasionally required to stand, climb, balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

    Regularly lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to twenty five (25) pounds.  Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
