    Job Summary

    The Program Specialist I, under general supervision, performs mid-level specialist duties for a department, college, or division.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Responsible for coordinating and processing anything related to the National Student Clearinghouse. This includes but is not limited to: enrollment reporting (federally mandated); enrollment/degree verifications; sending electronic data interchange (EDI) transcripts through SPEEDE and reverse transfer.

    Assists with testing of processes for patches and/or upgrades of our Student Information System (Banner).

    Assists with maintenance, upgrade, and changes in relation to DegreeWorks.

    Run and analyze diagnostic reports, making necessary corrections in the student information system based on the analysis of the reports.

    Ensures compliance with academic, regulatory requirements, including adherence to FERPA guidelines, with accuracy, timeliness, and student-centered professionalism.

    Responsible for notifications of: Reverse Transfer, Excess Hours, and SB 1528.

    Assists in planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring programs and services.

    Assist with on-campus trainings (Banner, DegreeWorks) and presentations for faculty, staff, and students.

    Works in collaboration with other staff members across campus and the Office of the Registrar.

    Assists in the development of policies and procedures. Assists in the preparation of special reports and other documents.

    Attends meetings and conferences to discuss the progress of assigned programs.

    Will serve as a backup for routine office operations and provide coverage in times of vacation, illness, and turnover.

    Minimum Requirements

    Education - Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Experience - No experience required.

    Knowledge of - Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

    Ability to - Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills. Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.

    Supervision of Others

    This position may supervise employees.

    Preferred Requirements

    Prefer 2 years of experience in higher education and knowledge of SQL.
