Program Specialist (Non-Profit) plans and coordinates one or more programs of a non-profit organization. Coordinates fundraising, budgeting, and community outreach efforts. Lorain/Medina Community Based Correctional Facility currently houses 130 non-violent felony offenders from Lorain and Medina counties. The C.B.C.F. is their "last chance" before going to prison. Felony offenders are sentenced by the Common Pleas Court Judges of Lorain and Medina counties.
The Program Specialist/Facilitator's beginning salary is $50,710.40 ($24.38/hour). Benefits include health insurance (medical, prescription, vision, and dental); life insurance; Ohio Public Employee's Retirement System; and benefit time (sick, vacation, and PTO).
Under the direct supervision of the Program Director, the Program Specialist/Facilitator is responsible for the implementation of the treatment modality and the facilitation of classes for the Lorain/Medina C.B.C.F.
Education: BA/BS in social work, sociology, psychology, criminal justice or related field.
Experience: In corrections, counseling, social work, drug treatment, community mental health, or a related area with two (2) years experience with human service delivery in a residential/correctional setting preferred.
Skills:
Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
Knowledge of drug/alcohol abuse evaluation, treatment, and testing.
Knowledge of local treatment programs.
Knowledge of domestic violence and child abuse.
Knowledge of holistic wellness.
Knowledge of community services.
