Description
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties (BGCSDC) is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our organization as a Health & Wellness Programs Specialist.
In this role, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and evaluating innovative programs aimed at fostering healthy lifestyles and promoting overall wellness among teens, with a specific focus on their physical and mental well-being.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in health promotion and program development, and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by adolescents.
Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities)
1. Design and develop engaging and evidence-based programs that address various aspects of physical and mental health, including nutrition, exercise, stress management, self-care, mindfulness, and emotional resilience.
2. Facilitate weekly workshops that integrate elements of team-building, problem-solving, and creative expression components, that empower teens to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
3. Develop and manage intermural sports leagues as a dynamic component of BGCSDC's Health and Wellness Programs.
4. Enhance and update health and wellness curricula based on industry standards and emerging trends, ensuring lesson relevance and effectiveness in preparing youth with essential life skills, including goal setting, conflict resolution, and effective communication, among others.
5. Develop innovative recruitment strategies to promote Health and Wellness Programs. Ensure inclusivity and accessibility in the recruitment process, identifying diverse target audiences and implementing effective methods to reach them.
6. Coordinate logistics for Teen Health Week, Wellness Fest, and other health or fitness-related special occasions.
7. Establish and maintain positive relationships with community organizations, health providers, schools, and other stakeholders to champion teen health and wellness.
