Being a Program Supervisor develops new business and expands product line. Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules and develops solutions to program problems. Additionally, Program Supervisor recommends changes to improve process efficiency and alleviate process inaccuracy and duplication. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Program Supervisor contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.     JOB SUMMARY


    The Programs Supervisor furthers the mission of Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains (GSTOP) through Timberlake Day Camp Programming. The Programs Supervisor will assist in planning, directing, and supervising all Day Camp programs. 

    Requirements


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

    •  Assist in the administration and direction of all summer camp programming under the lead of the Assistant Camp Director/Business Manager. 
    • Ensure the program delivered to campers is fun and purposeful. 
    • Ensure program plans are prepared and implemented that meet camp outcomes and the abilities of all campers. 
    • Deliver progressive program activities. 
    • Evaluate program delivery abilities of staff. 
    • Coordinate all camp program and campfire activities with other staff. 
    • Assist with Camp Staff training. 
    • Provide guidelines for programs utilizing camp equipment. 
    • Ensure campers and staff follow safety procedures in all program areas. 
    • Oversee daily check of area and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair.  
    • Ensure program areas are kept free of hazards and debris. 
    • Regularly monitor and work with any program staff. 
    • Provide feedback, guidance, and encouragement to any program staff. 
    • Provide any recommendations and concerns to supervisor, Assistant Camp Director. 
    • Assist with creation of camper and group programming schedules. 
    • Collect and evaluate records of all programming. 
    • Attending staff meetings. 
    • Participate enthusiastically in all camp activities, providing support and guidance to those as assigned. 
    • Participate as a member of the camp staff team to deliver and supervise any evening programs, special camp programs, and all camp activities. 
    • Programs Supervisors often have a direct relationship with staff and need to act as a leader and encourager, steering staff away from gossip and negativity. 
    • Manage the daily operations of program inventory control, badge earnings, record keeping of the programming, and maintain effective continual communication with staff, campers, and supervisor. 
    • Assist with check-in and check-out, welcome families, trouble shoot. Make sure all staff accounted for and units are prepared accordingly.  
    • Stay vigilant with all American Camper Association guidelines and continually monitor programming to ensure standards are kept.  
    • Assist with the monitoring of safety and all procedures as they pertain to the complete supervision of all staff and campers. 
    • Other duties assigned by Assistant Camp Director and as they present themselves.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum 18 years of age.  
    • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required (provided by GSTOP). 
    • Commitment to the mission and purpose of Girl Scouting. 
    • Membership in Girl Scout organization. 
    • Must be willing to work with all persons without regard to race, religion, ethnic origin, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, age, or disability. 
    • Experience and/or education in general Outdoor Education or Girl Scouts. 
    • Ability to coordinate on-site business activities. 
    • Desire and ability to work with children and adults in a camp community.  
    • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and produce results. 
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 
    • Verbal fluency, good grammar, and professional appearance. 
    • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license in the state where employee works/resides, with an acceptable driving record, acceptable insurance, and reliable transportation. 
    • Must complete and pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle records check, and drug screening.

    • Ability and willingness to work in an environment including exposure to environmental allergens including dust, mold, pollen, live birds, insects, and other animals.  
    • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
