Jira Project Administrator

  • Summary/Objective

    Support the Human Landing System (HLS) Program at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center as a Jira Project Administrator.


    Essential Functions

    • Develop and maintain workflows in Jira and Confluence.
    • Configure necessary plugins and provide support to extend Jira capabilities.
    • Support the HLS Program and its vendors in creating Jira projects, reports, and complex queries.
    • Contribute to the design of custom Jira workflows, custom fields, and screens for Continuous Integration.
    • Support integration between Jira and other products like Confluence.
    • Provide training and documentation for Jira Project workflows, data entry processes.

    • Ability to organize and gather technical information and summarize into the appropriate technical documentation.

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities 


     Required Education and Experience

    • BS Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
    • Understanding of government requirements and standards
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Minimum of 5 -7 years’ experience in systems engineering, configuration management, or software engineering
    • Minimum of 2 years of Jira Project Admin experience
    • Knowledge of project workflows
    • Understanding of Systems Engineering practices
    • Familiarity with DOORs or DOORs NextGen
    • Development of API interfaces and scripting


    Work Authorization/Security Clearance

    • U.S. Citizenship is required


    Work Environment      

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.


    Physical Demands

    • Work is generally described as sedentary. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with and exchange accurate information with others.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8 hours with core hours from 9:00AM to 3:00PM.


    Travel    

    Travel is primarily local during the business day, however up to 10% travel may be expected.
