    Shannon & Wilson is seeking a Project Administrator that will be located in our Anchorage office. This person will provide accounting and contract administration support to the Anchorage project teams.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Working closely with Project Managers in a consultant-based business
    • Perform core accounting functions, both AR (full cycle order to cash) and AP activities (procure to pay) including heavy client invoicing experience.
    • Contract Administration
    • Project Management, including set up in the accounting system, billing, and administration
    • Preparing project accounting reports for project managers
    • Communicating and coordinating with accounting staff and employees in other branch offices
    • Assisting with tasks as assigned by the Office Manager and Corporate Controller
    • Following Shannon & Wilsons Quality Assurance policy
    • Following and promoting Shannon & Wilsons Health & Safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures
    • Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor

    Qualifications


    • High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelors in accounting preferred
    • 3 to 5 years of accounting experience including accounts receivable and project accounting; or an accounting degree
    • Excellent computer skills and experience using Outlook, Word, and Excel
    • Experience using technology related to invoicing, AR and AP core modules with enterprise-level accounting technology. 
    • BST experience a plus
    • Knowledge of general ledger system and financial chart of accounts
    • Knowledge of standard contract terms, including time-and-materials, lump sum, not-to-exceed, and how they are applied in the billing process
    • Must be detail-oriented; produce accurate work product; and be able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with conflicting deadlines
    • Excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills required to effectively interact with vendors and staff at all levels
    • Must be able to work independently
    • This position requires critical thinking and analysis and mathematics

    Typically, depending on an applicants education, experience, other qualifications they possess, if they are a fit for the company and local office culture, and the current business needs, an Entry-Level Project Accountant typically would be placed at a Shannon & Wilson Office Services I, II, or III level.
