Ensures controls address cost or budget considerations, scope changes, supplier performance, and other risk levels. Role Overview: This position plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated project to ensure goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated project to ensure goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Reviews project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project. 2.Establishes work plan and staffing and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel. Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority. Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel. Reviews status report and prepares project reports. Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems. 3.Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others. 4.Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors. 5.Ensure OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance. 6.Frequently working in an environment with: Talking, hearing, need for near acuity. Minimum Qualifications: | |||
1.5 years of experience in project management in highway construction or a related field 2.Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering is preferred. 3.Reasoning ability equivalent to a level of applying logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and carrying out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions. Dealing with problems involving several concrete variables in or from standardized situations. 4.Vocabulary ability equivalent to reading various forms of literature and writing reports. Speak clearly and distinctly. 5.Mathematical ability equivalent to adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing all units of measure including decimal fractions.
