Project Engineer - Construction provides technical oversight, review, and engineering analysis of construction projects to ensure compliance with time, budget, quality, and regulatory requirements. Identifies and assesses engineering project risks, and develops mitigation strategies and solutions. Additionally, Project Engineer - Construction facilitates collaboration among project stakeholders, including architects, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Project Engineer - Construction work is closely managed.     Position Objective

    The Project Engineer is a key operational position for the organization and serves as a point of contact for internal and external parties during the construction phase of the project. This position is responsible for both project and field management aspects of the job and ensures projects are completed on time, within budget and according to client expectations.


    Essential Job Functions

    • Control time, cost and quality of a construction project through careful schedule management, coordination of subcontractor work, and quality oversight
    • Work with the Senior Project Manager and key decision maker in the field to identify worksite assignments, ensure the project is appropriately resourced, materials are available, and daily field operations are on track
    • Supervise the work quality, timeliness, and overall performance of subcontractors, vendors and suppliers and initiate corrective action if any of these aspects jeopardize the success of the project
    • Proactively identify project areas that are failing to meet expectations and identify methods to resolve issues to get projects back in line with financial, operational, and scheduling requirements
    • Partner with the Centric field and safety manager to maintain a safe work site environment that is in compliance with local, state and federal safety regulations
    • Build effective working relationships with architects, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers in order to complete projects on time and ensure Centric is seen as a professional in our industry
    • Keep an open line of communication between field management and project coordinators
    • Assist Lead Project Manager with project communication by facilitating internal and external meetings, keeping work schedules updated and completing weekly status reports
    • Ensure clients receive frequent communications regarding the status of the project and are made aware of viable options to problem-solve challenges


    Qualifications and Requirements 


    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, project management, architectural studies or an equivalent combination of closely related education and construction experience
    • Basic knowledge of project management and scheduling software
    • A valid driver’s license is required
    • OSHA-10 and First-Aid/CPR certifications are required within 30 days of hire
    • Previous experience in the supervision of suppliers and subcontractors on a job site

    • Able to move ideas from brainstorm to strategy to implementation
