SUMMARY OF POSITION

Kinsley is currently in search of a motivated and disciplined Project Engineer to become an integral part of our expanding site team. Based in Kinsley's York, PA office, the Project Engineer will play a crucial role in offering construction management support, encompassing both administrative and technical aspects, to an assigned Project Manager or Project Managers. Key responsibilities include managing technical documentation, facilitating communication between the job site, Foreman, and subcontractors, overseeing scheduling, and conducting cost analysis.

The successful candidate would ideally possess a degree or background in Engineering or Construction Management, coupled with relevant field experience. Strong proficiency in computer skills, effective communication abilities, and a proactive attitude toward learning are highly desirable qualities for this role.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

The project engineer will assist the project manager with his duties and be specifically responsible for the following:

• Read and interpret complex construction documents and drawings.
• Review and process contract documents systematically.
• Assist in the preparation and issuance of subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Organize and manage contract documents and shop drawings efficiently.
• Collaborate in generating change order requests, coordinating estimates with project estimators or subcontractors, and documenting field directives altering the project's original design or scope.
• Aid in the preparation and overseeing of the project schedule, updating it as directed.
• Monitor field productions, prepare production reports, and assess costs to complete as instructed.
• Accurately code material and subcontractor invoices
• Support the project manager in coordinating with subcontractors and material suppliers.
• Establish, organize, and maintain job files including contract documents and shop drawings.
• Monitor all long lead items and notify the project manager of any issues.
• Assist in the preparation of the project close-out manuals.
• Contribute to developing a project punch list and ensure prompt completion of all listed items.
• Assist with Quality Control, including preparatory meetings and final inspections.

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous PE experience preferred.
• Prior field construction experience preferred.
• A 2–4-year post-secondary degree preferred.
